IMHSUS will provide support for institutions, voluntary organisations and NGO’s in low and middle income countries, which work with a mental health and substance use remit, to enhance the capacity, access, and quality of services to tackle mental illness and substance use disorders. This will be achieved through training and health system strengthening.
The overall aim of IMHSUS is to support the development and sustainability of effective mental health and substance use care and rehabilitation and community support services in low and middle income countries worldwide.
IMHSUS aims to raise public awareness of mental illness and substance misuse and how these conditions can damagingly impact on people’s lives and the community, in addition to offering a positive perspective of how people who are experiencing mental health and substance use problems can live active and fulfilling lives and make a positive contribution to their community.
