Principles of IMHSUS

Accountability
To lead by example and hold ourselves to account in all that
we do, by constantly reflecting to improve and be better.

Mutual Respect
To understand that we do not all share the same beliefs and
values. To respect the values, ideas and beliefs of others
whilst not imposing our own on others. By being culturally
and contextually sensitive where we work.

Impartiality
To ensure equal treatment for everyone we work with from service users, to donors, to stakeholders.

Participation
To always do our best, by applying our expertise and experience to develop and grow.

Transparency
To treat people fairly and equally, welcoming everyone’s contribution and difference.

Integrity
To be open and honest with each other and those we work
with, accepting personal responsibility and demonstrating
empathy and loyalty.

Honesty
To show compassion, generosity, and consideration, mindful
of our own wellbeing alongside that of those we work with
and for.

Openness
To be open-minded, receptive, and responsive, taking account of alternative perspectives.

Resilience
To respond positively to challenge when overcoming
problems and to be flexible and adaptable and receive feedback constructively.

Responsibility
To have a duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of staff, contractors, and the population with whom we operate.

Flexibility
To have the ability to adapt to changes in where we work, to be responsive to opportunities and threats, and to be agile in decision-making.
